Based on the CDC's recommendation of cancelling gatherings of 50 people or more to slow the spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19, we have decided to cancel the annual Honors Celebration Ceremony. In lieu of the ceremony and as a practice of social distancing, we plan to share a campus wide email at the beginning of May including information regarding the students that receive honors. The Bakersfield College Choirs present a concert entitled, “I Have a Voice” on April 22 at 7:30 pm in the Indoor Theatre at BC. The concert will feature the BC College Choir, Chamber Singers, and the Renegade Chorus under the direction of Dr. Jennifer Garrett with Patrick Bender as collaborative pianist. Through composers such as Moira Smiley, Paul Rardin, Joaquin des Prez, Levente, Rheinberger, and more the choirs and audience will explore the many way we have a voice today…

Join us for a fundraiser benefiting the Bakersfield College Alumni Association on April 23rd, 2022 at 6 PM! Hosted at Temblor Brewing Co on Buck Owens Blvd. Temblor Brewing Co is a locally owned microbrewery, venue and comedy club. They’ll be serving $5 KCP pints all night while Mento Buru plays their signature blend of Latin alternative, Jamaican SKA, and reggae. All ages are welcome.

The 2022 Honors Celebration will recognize student recipients of scholarships and/or awards for the Spring 2022 and upcoming 2022-2023 academic year. This pre-recorded event will feature BC administrators and a keynote speaker, as well as name recognition for all student recipients. The 2022 Honors Celebration will premiere virtually online on Thursday, April 28th.
